Ship's Meeting, March 27, 2021, 1500 hrs Patriotic Pig The loyal crew of the USS Sea Tiger once more gathered for friendship, fellowship, and tasty barbeque. In attendance were MGen Tank Clark, RAdm Liz Goulet, CDR Tracy Clark, LTC Roon Marchant, MGySgt Alan Goulet, and MCPO Michelle Goulet. (Maj. Daniel was with the Tx State Guard this weekend.) There were two main points of conversation; Conversation focused primarily on upcoming activities, and that focused on cancelled events. First, the cancellation of the 2021 Region 3 summit and Third Brigade Muster disappointed everyone on the ship. The reasons for the cancellation were explained, and it's understandable that the summit hosts and the region/brigade staffs were cautious about trying to get a large number of people together. However, it is very disappointing, and as it now makes two years without a summit, this officer tends to wonder if there will ever again be a physical summit. The Sea Tiger crew will wait and see, but we are crestfallen regarding this situation. Unfortunately, it has almost completely removed any enthusiasm for the (so far, still scheduled) Region 3 NASA trip in September. On the other hand, as more places locally are returning to a more normal business structure, the Sea Tiger is excited to return to our normal meeting location, Shady Oak BBQ. The Patriotic Pig is nice, but the service, atmosphere, and greater selection available at Shady Oak is something we have been looking forward to enjoying since the COVID-19 restrictions began. This officer is excited to return there beginning next month. We're still working on logistics for the ship's Color Guard team, and we only lack a few items. All four members of the team (currently) are members of both our STARFLEET Marines and our MACOs. By odd coincidence, the team members are also members of the local KAG ship, the IKV SuvwI'ta'. Plans are underway for a few exciting landing parties: a trip to the Wise County Heritage Museum in Decatur, TX, a trip to the Artillery museum in St. Jo, TX (when it reopens) -- which will probably include a picnic in a nearby town, and a trip to participate in Jared's Epic Nerf Battle (https://www.eventbrite.com/e/jareds-epic-nerf-battle-6-tickets-112730540080?fbclid=IwAR3S5qwAMGLF5MMTuaBt10fDFv-c-5PFY1ptMrrfvzkKA7RrjeuLiRRAweY) in Arlington, TX. This is in addition to the Marine unit's excursion to Omaha's Military Surplus Store in Fort Worth, video game play at Electric Starship earning points in the Third Brigade's Field Training Exercise (FTX) program, and other activities. Plans also continue -- albeit a bit long-range -- for the 30th anniversary of our chapter's commissioning, in Oct 2022. Sea Tiger remains an active, fun-loving ship with an awesome, excited crew. Clark, commanding Sea Tiger, out.
