Ship's Meeting & Ferengi Gift Exchange Saturday, 09 Dec 2017 1500 Hrs Shady Oak BBQ, Fort Worth, TX In attendance at the December meeting were Tank & Tracy Clark; Liz, Alan, and Michelle Goulet; Joy & Byron Flynt, Cyndi Crouch, and Rob Dietrich. During the last couple of months, we talked about the Bridge Officer Certification Program at STARFLEET Academy. I have determined the special insignia that the ship will award members who earn the BOCP: from Vangardmil.com, the Civil Air Patrol Cadet Grade Insignia First Sergeant Diamond. One will be worn, on the right chest opposite the combadge. In Blue Division news, it would be nice if the ship could raise funds without membership dues. Alan & LIz suggested a 50/50 game, in which half (rounded down) of the money collected would go to the winner, and the other half would go into the Ship's coffers. This idea was approved by members present, and will go into effect in January. In Gold Division, Liz has the December Holiday edition of the newsletter already prepared. Meanwhile, the mission to see Star Wars: The Last Jedi has proved extremely difficult to coordinate (between people's holiday prep, jobs, and difficulty deciding which cinema.) It was decided, therefore, that we would NOT see the movie together as a ship's function. Our Marine unit will be starting our next Military Intelligence Gathering mission. The targets this time are "Icons" -- that is to say, statues of mascots like Buckee's beaver or Ronald McDonald, etc., or famous(ish) things like the Aurora (TX) Alien off TX-114. The photo of the target must include a member, preferably in uniform but with a minimum of a visible combadge. This mission begins on January 1, 2018, and ends the last day of March, 2018. We also discussed movies (Thor: Ragnarok, Murder on the Orient Express, Justice League, and of course Star Wars: The Last Jedi) and TV shows (The Orville, Star Trek: Discovery, Young Sheldon, etc.) before we adjourned the meeting. Next meeting: Joy Flynt is Officer of the Deck. Class B uniforms, if worn. Clark, commanding Sea Tiger, out.
