On May 25th, the valiant crew of the USS Sea Tiger met at our usual location (Shady Oak BBQ) for yet another fun-filled afternoon of fellowship. I am very pleased to see so many ‘new hands’ on board. Daniel and Richard came to their second meeting and brought a couple of new friends with them: Joshua and Mike. It was also great to see Liz, Alan, and Cynthia join us. If you haven’t been coming recently, we’ve missed you!
June is going to be a pretty busy month, with Summit & Muster taking center stage. I enjoyed visiting Baton Rouge a couple of years ago on my way to STARFLEET International Conference in New Orleans, and I eagerly anticipate visiting Mike the Tiger at LSU and restocking my desk with LSU pens & stuff. Tracy and I plan on visiting the USS Orleck, a museum ship, in St. Charles on our way back. Add that to all the shenanigans and hijinks starting at the Marine Mess, and ending with Closing Ceremonies… well, it’ll be exciting, fun, and probably exhausting. Good times. June’s ship meeting is at Shady Oak on the 22nd. Join us, and bring a friend! We’ll try to plan out an indoor activity for July, and maybe for August, too, so bring your ideas with you. In July, we’ll be sending a Landing Party to the Wax Museum (“Louis Tussaud’s Palace of Wax”, 601 E Palace Pkwy, Grand Prairie, TX.) According to their web site, adult tickets are $20.99 each for that one attraction. (Currently, there isn’t a Groupon available.) It opens at 10:00, and I’m told there is a Star Trek themed exhibit there – so let’s go in uniform (for those of us who have them and want to do so) for a group photo. July’s meeting will be on the 27th of that month, as the fun just keeps on a’comin’! I look forward to seeing y’all there! Commodore Tank Clark, Captain, USS Sea Tiger NCC-2009
