Shady Oak BBQ, Ft Worth, TX, 1500 hours This month's meeting was happily attended by COMM Tank Clark, CMDR Tracy Clark, LTC Roon Marchant, MCPO Alan Goulet, RADM Liz Goulet, and 2LT Daniel Roe. We discussed lots of things, including Star Trek, the Landing Party to the Wax Museum on 13 Jul, Star Trek, this years & next years' Region 3 Summits (2020 in Beaumont), Star Trek, making 2LT Roe the new Red Division Leader, Star Trek, the ship's Marines earning another Meritorious Unit Citation, Star Trek, playing Artemis, new shirts, the Orville, and Star Trek. Our next function will be at the Wax Museum in Grand Prairie, at 1000 hours on 13 July. As there is a photo op, we'll be in uniform. Bring friends! Clark, commanding Sea Tiger, out.

The Sea Tiger sent a landing party -- consisting of COMM Tank Clark, RADM Liz Goulet, MCPOs Alan and Michelle Goulet, CMDR Tracy Clark, and our mascot "Cap'n C. Tiger" -- to the Region 3 Summit & Third Brigade Muster, held this year in Baton Rouge, LA.
The trip itself was moderately arduous; ten hours or so each way. It was, however, worthwhile. We got to see and socialize with old friends and new, we had pleasant meals, we saw some of the local sights, and had a lot of fun. The Marine Dress Mess went off splendidly on Friday night. Tank served as the Vice President of the Mess, and had all sorts of tasks for each Branch of Service to prove their mettle. It must have gone quite well, as the Brigade has requested that he return as Permanent Vice President. On Saturday, after breakfast, we started out with Opening Ceremonies, and then the program split into two tracks: Leadership and "Fun". The Leadership track included the CCO meeting and the Marine Muster, filling up my morning. The fun track, which I wasn't able to attend, had discussions about the Orville series, Picard vs. Kirk et al, and other interesting-sounding activities. Following a break for lunch (and a nap for yours truly), we continued with more panels and discussions. The Admiral's Dinner on Saturday night was quite fun, and was followed by the traditional Charity Aution. I did not participate, but I enjoyed watching, and socializing throughout. During Closing ceremonies on Sunday morning, it was announced that the 2020 Summit will be held in Beaumont, TX... and I'm looking forward to it already! Clark, commanding Sea Tiger, out. |
