Ship's Meeting Shady Oak BBQ, Ft Worth 1500-1700hrs The members of the USS Sea Tiger gathered together once again for our normal monthly meeting. In attendance were RADM Liz Goulet, MCPO Alan Goulet, LTC Roon Marchant, 2LT Ricky Morrison, & 2LT Daniel Roe. We were also joined by Steven, who'd heard about us via Meetup.com We recounted the decisions made at the Leadership Committee meeting on the 14th of September, and set plans in motion for our next landing party. On 12 Oct the landing party will gather at Rosa's Cafe on 114 & I-35W at 1700, proceeding from there to the DFW Adventure Park where, when it gets dark, we will participate in a Zombie Hunt. Riding in a trailer attached to a 5-ton Army truck, we will shoot Zombies (with paintball pellets), firing from what has been described as turrets (although I think it's more likely to be swivel guns). Our November meeting (on the 23rd of that month) will be at a Landing Party: an Escape Room within our Area of Operations will try to defeat the brave crew of the USS Sea Tiger, after which we will enjoy a repast at a nearby eatery. Our December meeting will be a party: at or around noon on December 14th, we'll meet at Daniel's place for a Klingon Dinner Thing and a Ferengi Gift Exchange -- limit about $10 each. No business should be conducted at this meeting, it's just a party to celebrate the holidays and to have fun together. Also in December, the newest Star Wars movie will be coming out -- and we think it would be fun to attend together in our Star Trek uniforms! We will be ordering a limited number of custom comm-badges and patches, and we'll introduce a "kitty" to feed at each of our gatherings to increase both our ship's funds and to raise money for our various charities. Starting a canned food drive has been discussed, as well, especially when we start doing things at and in conjunction with the Haltom City Library. We continue to work on recruiting, as well. All things said, it's a good time to be aboard the USS Sea Tiger! Clark, commanding Sea Tiger, out.
